he required audition piece is "Little Pixie II" by Thad Jones. Please review the document carefully to see which sections you are responsible for based on your instrument.

Important Notes:

You will be performing solo — there will be no backing track or live rhythm section during your audition.
I highly recommend practicing along with the recording to develop a strong feel for the groove, articulation, and phrasing.

Audition Format:

Auditions will last approximately 7 minutes
No sight-reading is required
You will audition for a panel of 4 jazz professionals:

Dr. Ryan Chapman – Assistant Director, Jazz Ensemble
Professor Robertson – Director of Jazz Studies
Jerry Stawski – Pianist, All That Jazz Sextet (Artis-Naples)
Bill E. Peterson – Professional Jazz Musician

Please arrive at least 10 minutes early to warm up and be prepared to start on time.
