OVERVIEW - This is an entirely REMOTE & VIRTUAL position.

WHO: Preference for current college students or college graduates (technical/vocational, 2-yr, 4-yr); tutors will serve as a resource and role model for middle school students in AVID and core academic classes (virtually). No experience required, however a desire to learn and support others' learning is necessary!

WHAT: Tutors use specific teaching methods and materials to facilitate eTutorials of small groups of AVID middle or high school students at various school locations. Tutors use Socratic questioning and other AVID learning strategies to help students develop answers to their own questions through writing, inquiry, collaboration, organization, and reading.

WHERE: Remote and virtual position, you must have access to reliable internet connection and a laptop with a microphone and webcam capabilities. The students are engaged in remote learning from locations in Auburn, Renton, Kent, and Tukwila School Districts.

WHEN: 2020-2021 school year; average three (3) to five (5) hours per day (9:00am-4:00pm), two (2) to three (3) days per week (Monday-Friday). Tutor schedules are flexible and will be determined upon hire.

OTHER INFO: Pay rate varies across school districts between $16-19 per hour. All training will be provided virtually (including AVID eTutorial Strategies) and paid time.
