Psyche species suggestions form
Suggest species of Lepidoptera that you would like to have a genome for!

Suggested species will be used to construct a list of priority species for phase I of the project which aims to sequence phyletic diversity as well as prioritising species which are of particular importance to the community.

Further information on species suggestions can be found here: psyche.org/suggest-a-species

Please fill in this form once per species that you are interested in. If you are interested in more than 10 species, please request to join the Psyche google group and state your interest in nominating species in your request to join and we will be in touch.

Note, that it may take a year until the genome is finished if we have specimens of the suggested species and we may not be able to generate a genome in the first phase if we do not have specimens yet.

Data protection note: If you elect to give us your personal information (name, email address and institution) we will ONLY use it to contact you about species nominations as well as send a link to the google group. We will also use your institution and country information simply to assess the reach of interest in Psyche. This is a Google form and thus the data will be stored on Google servers, likely outside your nation's jurisdiction. We will not share the list with third parties.

Briefly outline why having a genome for this species would be beneficial. Rationale for sequencing may include scientific interest related to agriculture, ecosystem function, food safety, medicine, energy. Motivations may also include available genetic tools, systematics, or facilitating other biological research.

Are you aware of any groups that have begun or plan to perform genome sequencing for this species?
Clear selection
If 'Yes' to the previous question, please provide additional information here.
Do you have or plan to collect samples of this species in the future? If yes and you are happy to share samples with Psyche, please tell us about your plans so that we can take sample availability into account. We note that samples would need to have been stored at -80 since collection to be used for long read sequencing.
Do you already have or are you aware of existing RNA sequence data?
How would you like to participate?  Please select all options that apply and add others as you wish.

We highly appreciate it if people can write introductions for genome notes (examples here: https://www.darwintreeoflife.org/genomes/genome-notes). Please select this option if you are able to.

Note that collections are organised via hubs, you will be contacted with more information and questions if you select the option "Provide material".
