In accordance with federal and state guidelines for Title I schools, Southeast Dubois County School Corporation is committed to ensuring the highest quality of education for all students. As part of this commitment, we propose the following requirements for individuals seeking employment as instructional assistants in Title I-funded programs.
Proposed Requirements:
School-Level Evaluation: Candidates for instructional assistant positions must receive a satisfactory comprehensive school-level evaluation. This evaluation will measure the applicant’s ability to effectively support classroom instruction, interact with students, and assist teachers in promoting a positive and productive learning environment.
Paraprofessional Exam: Alternatively, candidates may fulfill this requirement by passing the Paraprofessionals Exam, which assesses knowledge and skills in reading, writing, and mathematics, as well as the ability to assist in instruction in these areas. This exam ensures that all instructional assistants meet the standards necessary to support academic achievement in Title I programs.
These proposed requirements are designed to enhance the quality of support services provided to students and help ensure that instructional assistants are well-prepared to contribute to the success of our school community.
