Construction Technology Disclosure 2023-24
OVERVIEW
construction technology is the use of innovative tools, machinery and software to create meaningful projects in our world today.  Our goal is to help students become better with hands on skills that will benefit their lives and the world around us.  This class is a hands on, project based class.  Attendance will be crucial to success.  Occasionally movie clips will be used during class to help teach a principle or lesson pertaining to what we are learning.  All clips will be G or PG rated.  Please email me if you have any concerns or questions regarding this.

REQUIREMENTS
You will need to have a pencil, paper and a pair of safety glasses at all times. Along with this, a combination lock will be required for class lockers to keep projects safe during the school year.  You will be required to pay a $20.00 materials fee at the office and bring the receipt to me. Part of your grade will be to participate and clean up each day.

ELECTRONIC DEVICES
Cell phones, IPODS or other electronic devices are not to be displayed or used in the classroom or Labs. These will be allowed at certain times but only with teacher permission. Ear buds, head phones, etc. are against school policy and will be taken from you.

LOCKS AND LOCKERS
You will be assigned a locker with another student from class.  You will be responsible for a lock to put on the locker to keep your projects and belongings safe during class.

MAKE-UP
All work missed due to an absence is required to be made-up. You will have 5 days from the due date to turn the assignment in.  Please ask for work missed the day you come back to school. If you cannot make up the work in the time allowed ask for more time. Time made up for lab work can be done during advisory, before or after school.

REDO
If the work was previously turned in and you would like to try to improve the score, you will have until the end of the eighth week of the term to do this. Also you may redo the assignment as many times as you would like.

GRADING
You will be graded on both classroom work and lab work. Classroom work will be graded the same as other classrooms in the school and lab work will be graded on lab participation and clean-up.  Students are required to clean after each class period and will be graded.

CITIZENSHIP
Citizenship grades will be based on the students willingness to adherence to the rules, the effort and attitude displayed in class and being on time each day. All students will begin with an H (the highest score).  The citizenship score will be adjusted, if needed, based on students efforts.

CHEATING
Cheating of any sort is not acceptable.  If a student is found cheating, they will receive a zero score for that assignment or test, a drop in citizenship to a U and a meeting with a parent in person or by phone.  The best policy is to avoid even the appearance of cheating.

EXTRA CREDIT
If you are not tardy the entire term a 5% increase in your grade will be given.  Other opportunities will be available for extra credit as well.
