About the VT Nonprofit Legal Hub

The Vermont Nonprofit Legal Hub is a partnership between Common Good Vermont, the United Way of Northwest Vermont, the Vermont Asylum Assistance Project, the Vermont Bar Foundation, The Vermont Council on Rural Development, the Vermont Center for Agriculture and Food Systems, and the Vermont Law and Graduate School Small Business Center with more partners expected to join.

The VT Nonprofit Legal Hub is a growing network of leaders in the nonprofit and legal communities working to support and defend Vermont’s nonprofit sector. Nonprofits, especially those serving underrepresented and rural communities, often face complex legal compliance challenges without affordable access to counsel. These challenges can threaten their stability, limit their ability to advocate, and distract from their core missions. The Hub bridges this gap by mobilizing Vermont’s legal expertise, fostering collaboration across sectors, and creating a centralized platform for guidance, training, and support.

Our mission is simple: empower Vermont nonprofits with the legal tools, resources, and connections they need to thrive, overcome challenges, and keep delivering the services our communities depend on.
