Class of 1961 75th Birthday Celebration
We turn 75 this year. That's three quarters of a century. This calls for another class of 1961 celebration. We have found the perfect place - a 1950s diner on a farm in southern Minnesota. It's owned by Tommy Kramer, a philanthropist farmer. Yes, he also played quarterback for the Vikings - the Hayfield High School Vikings. He bought the 1950s diner furnishings from a restaurant in New Orleans that went out of business after Katrina.

His diner is well known in the Hayfield/Rochester area as a place for celebrations and reunions. We have reserved it for our 75th birthday luncheon celebration on Thursday, July 19. Check out the pictures below to get a sense of this unique place.
Tommy Kramer's 1950s Diner
There is a jukebox full of music from our era. Plus, in the next room, a half basketball court, pool table, foosball, and a movie theater. Outside are amazing gardens that attract tours from Rochester. And, it's air conditioned!!
To top the day off, the White Sidewalls perform a free concert at the Rice County Fair at 7:00 pm. Bring a lawn chair if you plan to go.
The plan is to rendezvous at Faribault Senior High and car caravan to the diner. The caravan leaves at 10:30 am. It's 42 miles to the diner. Classic cars and car pooling are encouraged.

Our luncheon will be catered by Superior Foods of Ellendale. The cost is $15 per person. This will cover the cost of food and use of the diner. The only thing you need to bring is your favorite beverage.
We need to know the number planning to come. If we have at least 30, we will go ahead with the plans. You don't want to miss this one. Let us know if you are either a definite yes or a probable. We'll ask for a final count in late June.
