We believe our district needs a space for student-driven, inquiry-oriented education for our students.
Public education CAN be structured around the cultivation of the strengths and passions of children. Schools can also have a supportive, caring and respectful environment.This is demonstrated in the schools that follow the structure of Big Picture Learning (BPL).
Big Picture Learning schools are based on these three principles:
1. That learning must be based on the interests and goals of each student;
2. That a student’s curriculum must be relevant to people and places that exist outside school;
3. That a student’s abilities must be authentically measured by the quality of her or his work.
