Greening Taupō Day 2026 is fast approaching!

Greening Taupō Day is our Arbor Day planting event, festival of environmental education, and our one big fundraiser for the year. We appreciate everyone who gives up their time to come and make this celebration happen. It is a HUGE event, with over 2000 people expected to come along on the day.

We are always looking for ways to keep the costs of this day down and to provide transport for schools wanting to attend. If you are interested in sponsoring part of this event, sponsoring a bus, or providing in-kind support, please email rachel@greeningtaupo.org.nz

Site and Activity Information

We will send you a specific site plan a couple of days before the event, once all activities have been finalised. This will show you where to set up and where to park. On the day, there will be site numbers spray painted on the grass to help you. Please ask anyone in hi vis when you arrive for directions to the site and the parking area. The information below will help us to ensure that your site is big enough and in an appropriate place.

-This must be free.

-We really appreciate and encourage activities that have an environmental message or other educational message (e.g. health and safety). However, activities that get the tamariki moving, entertain them, or teach them a new skill are great too!

I understand that we are trying to limit waste and litter on the day, so we prefer that any lollies that are given away are not in wrappers (we recommend a bowl/jar and tongs). *

Health and Safety

We want to make sure that everyone has a fun day and stays safe. Please read the Health & Safety Plan.

*Please be advised that in the morning when you set up, the entry is one way to avoid congestion. If any vehicles need to leave the site before pack up at 2pm, they must follow the driveway out to Centennial Drive and exit that way. This will be sign posted. It is a bit of a drive, but will avoid you trying to get out the gate as everyone is entering.

After reading the Health & Safety Plan, check these boxes. *

I understand that after setting up, we can park in the designated park for exhibitors, but vehicles cannot leave this area until 2pm

I understand that any children onsite during set up time must be with us, not running around site, as there will be moving vehicles.

I understand that for set up and pack down, we must drive very slowly and carefully (walking pace) on site at all times with hazard lights on.

I understand that we need to sign our group in at the registration desk under the Greening Taupō gazeboand that a first aid kit will be located there.

I understand that all vehicles need to be off site, in the designated parking area by 9:15 am and cannot come back onsite until 2pm

I understand that gazebos must be pegged down securely with strong pegs at all times.

Debrief and Kai for Exhibitors and Volunteers

After the event has ended and you have packed up, we invite you to join us at the Greening Taupō gazebo for kai and drinks. We appreciate you coming along and know how busy the day is. This is a time for us to say thanks and provide you with some yummy treats. It is also a time to relax, chat, network with other organisations and fill your tummies before hitting the road to head home.

Greening Taupō and Kids Greening Taupō are not for profit organisations. This event is our only fundraiser of the year. We do not charge anyone for having a stand, as we appreciate everyone being there in their own time providing an activity to make the day a fun day for the tamariki.
