2025 Future Music Educators Symposium Application
You have been selected by your music teacher to apply for participation in the Future Music Educators Symposium, a conference within the 2025 SCMEA Professional Development Conference, on Friday, February 7, at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center, Columbia SC. The purpose of the FME Symposium is to inform and encourage our outstanding high school music students to pursue careers in music education. To qualify, you must be a sophomore, junior or senior in good academic standing. Complete symposium information is located at www.scmea.net. Please complete all items in this application. The application is due Friday, January 10, 2025.

FME Symposium Student Participation Agreement
If selected to participate in the SCMEA Future Music Educators Symposium on February 9, 2024, I understand that the parent/guardian/caretaker is responsible for providing transportation to and from the Future Music Educators Symposium, hotel accommodations if desired, and meals before and after the symposium (before 8:00 AM, after 4:30 PM). The parent/guardian/caretaker and student agree to arrive by the 8:00 AM check-in time and the parent/guardian/caretaker agrees to pick up the student at the 4:30 PM symposium ending time. Parents/guardians/caretakers are invited to attend the General Session at 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM in the Convention Ballroom to see your student recognized as a participant in the Symposium, and then return at 4:30 PM to pick up your student in the Convention Center Lobby (registration area). A registration fee of $30 is required to pay for lunch, snacks, and symposium supplies. If selected to participate, instructions to register and pay the fee will be included in the acceptance notification. Parents/guardians/caretakers and students are responsible for any school or district permission slips and procedures required to miss school on February 9, 2024 to attend this event. Students are requested to dress in nice, modest clothes, appropriate for a professional conference.
