A student who violates rules or disregards the authority of the supervisors on a field trip may significantly endanger the safety of others and may be summarily dismissed from the trip.  Students on field trips remain under the supervision of Bentonville Public Schools and are subject to its rules and regulations.

1. Students are expected to adhere to the guidelines in the student handbook.  All school rules apply.  Students may be sent home at any time, at their parents’ expense, if deemed necessary.

2. Students may not use, or be under the influence of or in possession of an alcoholic beverage or illegal substance.  If a student is under the influence, the student will be sent home at the parent’s expense and will be subject to disciplinary action according to school policy.

3. Smoking is not permitted on school-sponsored trips.

4. Students will be separated by gender on buses.

5. Students will be held responsible for any damage they cause at any time during the trip.

6. Students shall remain with the school-sponsored group at all times.

7. Students are expected to be respectful and courteous at all times.  Appropriate language is expected.

8. Luggage check will be scheduled prior to departure

9. Hotel room checks will be conducted daily.  Boys are not to be in girls rooms and girls are not to be in boys rooms at any time.  A curfew will be set by the sponsor prior to trip departure.  Violation of curfew will result in disciplinary action.

10. Regulations set forth by hotels, conference venues and attractions are to be followed.
