CCGS & WAISN New Accompaniment Trainings -2020 Interest Form

The Church Council of Greater Seattle has been collaborating with the Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network (WAISN) over the last year to prepare additional accompaniment trainings to respond to requests from community members.

The 3 training areas of focus are:
1. USCIS appointments (CCGS volunteers have already had this initial training with the USCIS site visit)
2. Northwest Detention Center (NWDC) Bond Hearings
3. State Court (non-immigration court) where there is a fear of ICE presence. This will draw heavily on Rapid Response trainings.

CCGS is inviting all accompaniment volunteers who have already been certified as CCGS volunteers after completing Parts 1 & 2 to sign up for additional training opportunities as they are interested. We encourage you to continue your learning by participating in a training. You can then determine after the training if you are interested in being on the "volunteer list" for that particular type of accompaniment.

CCGS is also seeking a team of 3-5 volunteer trainers to help offer about 3-4 trainings in the Spring, Summer, and Fall of 2020. There will be an initial "Train the Trainer" gathering with WAISN on Feb 8th 10am-2pm in Burien. Please indicate below if you are interested.

Any questions, please feel free to reach out to Briana or Kimberly at accompaniment@thechurchcouncil.org | 253-343-1410.

Your phone number
Have you completed both Part 1 (Accompaniment 101 Gathering) and Part 2 (USCIS Orientation) of the CCGS Accompaniment Training? *
Are you interested in participating in an additional focus area for accompaniment through CCGS and its partnership with WAISN? If so, please check all the boxes for the types of accompaniment training you are interested in. *Please note, CCGS volunteers have already had a basic USCIS orientation. However, please check that box if you would be interested in a refresher. *You are also welcome to attend the training and then decide if it's an area of accompaniment you'd like to be on a list for. CCGS also must determine that all volunteers are well-suited for the types of accompaniment.
Would you have any interest in joining a team of 3-5 people as a trainer to offer these new accompaniment trainings to CCGS volunteers? We would ideally like each trainer to be able to commit to helping with the prep and presentation of 2 trainings out of the 3-5 trainings that are likely to be offered in the Spring, Summer & Fall of 2020. Trainings may be offered in collaboration with other partner organizations.
If interested in being a trainer, can you join the "train the trainer" gathering on Sat Feb 8th from 10am-2pm in Burien?
Clear selection
If you are interested in learning more about becoming an accompaniment trainer, please briefly include: a) any experience you have doing community presentations, b) any time/schedule limitations you would need to work around, c) and any of your passion/interest in joining a team of trainers!
Church Council is also looking for accompaniment leaders to join the CCGS Accompaniment Core Team to support the behind the scenes that keeps the accompaniment efforts moving forward. If you are interested in joining the leadership team, please let Briana know! We need support with developing training material, staying in touch with the volunteer community, participating with community outreach & relationship building, and some occasional administrative & tech support. We can work with the time you are able to offer and find a way to include you in the shared leadership!
