High Holy Days sign-up (Fall 2025 / 5786)
Shana tova and thank you for signing up in advance for the meals you plan to attend so that we can ensure we have enough food for everyone. Click here for the full schedule of services and meals.

No sign up is needed for services for Rosh Hashanah on September 22 or September 23 or Yom Kippur on October 1 or October 2. Service sign-ups are requested for 2nd Day Rosh Hashanah services (September 24), as we'll be accompanying students to a local COnservative Synagogue in Syracuse.

Rosh Hashanah starts on the evening of Monday, September 22.

Yom Kippur starts with Kol Nidrei on Wednesday eventing, October 1st.

*Please Note*: All students are able to miss class for religious observances and are able to make up examinations, study or work missed in accordance with the religious observances policy. Students must notify their instructors of their observances through MySlice starting in late Aug. and by the deadline of Sept. 15 this semester. We also recommend emailing your professors directly well in advance of the holidays, even if there's just a chance you'll observe the chagim, in order to avoid any negative consequences for missing class or making up work due to High Holy Day observances.

If you are interested in hosting your own Rosh Hashanah dinner, Syracuse can reimburse you up to $12/person. Please email jmstern@syr.edu to sign-up to host your own RH dinner, with the estimated number of students. Afterward, you'll need to send all receipts and a photo of your attendees at dinner as well.

*Upon registration, you will receive the location of all services and meals for High Holidays.
