Application Deadline: Monday, October 11, 2021
Applicants will be notified no later than Wednesday, October 13, 2021

APPLICATION DETAILS

There is no fee to participate.
Preference will be given to individuals affiliated with Campus Compact member institutions.
Participants commit to attend all scheduled virtual meetings for the CoP.

This CoP will meet biweekly for six (6) 120-minute sessions between mid-October to early January 2022. The specific meeting time and dates for each CoP can be found below. Meetings will take place online via Zoom using a webcam. Participants will need access to high speed internet, a webcam, and an ability to (or willingness to learn how to) use Zoom.

CoP participants will be selected with the intention of creating a diverse learning community that includes multiple perspectives and experiences, institutions, roles, and approaches to community engagement. Additional  criteria for participation include applicants' commitment to personal and professional growth and development, and their desire to deeply engage in an inclusive learning community with peers.  All CoPs will embrace and embody the following equity-based principles that:  (a) everyone has knowledge to share, (b) everyone has learning to do, and (c) participants bring many identities and ways of knowing and that such diverse expressions should be encouraged and incorporated into CoP activities. Preference will be given to applicants affiliated with Campus Compact member institutions.

As facilitators who know both the power of solidarity and allyship, our goal is to create a space that is authentic to everyone’s experiences with the understanding that racism impacts our lives differently depending on which group we fall into. The CoP will be divided into two caucus groups, one for BIPOC-identifying folks and one for White-identifying folks.  We will meet much of the time in separate caucus groups, periodically coming back together to discuss strategies moving forward. Individuals who identify as bi/multi-racial will have the opportunity to select the option to participate in either or both caucuses if they so choose. There will be a total of 20-30 slots for this CoP, with 10-15 per caucus group.

This CoP will meet Tuesdays 2PM-4PM EST on the following dates:

10/19– Session 1
11/2 – Session 2
11/16– Session 3
11/30– Session 4
12/14– Session 5
1/4– Session 6
