At the 2015 BBA Summit Mayor Weinberger said that Burlington is facing a "Housing Affordability Crisis". After hearing from 2/3 of our membership that housing is an important issue for economic vitality of Burlington, the housing crisis has been a large focus of our advocacy work since 2015.

Downtown Improvement District: Each year businesses within the downtown district (boundary=Pearl, South Winooski, Main, Battery) pay a Downtown Improvement District (DID) tax, totaling $317,000 which currently goes towards the 2 hour free parking program.

Do you agree with the following statement: DID funds should be used to establish a Downtown Improvement District entity, which would work to create events, marketing campaigns and street improvements similar to the Church Street Marketplace, to benefit the entire downtown.
