Volunteer Sign-Up__Fix-It Fair at Ron Russell MS__Jan 23rd 2016

Bikes for Humanity PDX will be supporting City of Portland's Fix-It Fair by helping Ron Russell Middle School students and families make their bicycles safer to ride. We will also host a workshop on Roadside Flat Repair and Chain Maintenance.

Date: Saturday, January 23rd, 2016

Event Hours: 9:30am - 3pm

Event Location: Ron Russell Middle School, 3955 SE 112th Ave, Portland, OR 97266

See City of Portland's Fix-It Fairs website here:
https://www.portlandoregon.gov/bps/41892

We will be doing a BIKE MOVE to and from the event with our tools and equipment. We need volunteers to ride their bikes with bike trailers or racks/saddle bags with load-carrying capability and pick up tools, parts, and bike stands from our bike shop (3354 Southeast Powell Boulevard) and transport to and back from the event.

The ride will be 5 miles each way, and will take about 35 minutes each way. The more BIKE MOVE volunteers we have, the lighter, safer, and faster we can travel.

We need volunteers with bike repair experience who love to perform minor tune-ups and repairs, and document what still need be fixed so riders can follow-up after the event. We also need volunteers to perform outreach at our booth. There will be free morning snacks, coffee, and lunch provided at the Fix-It Fair.

Event day contact: Scott Anselmo (630-386-5751)
