2. A passion for working with youth
3. An interest in community service
4. Strong communication skills
5. An interest in building community with staff, students, and other volunteers
6. No prior teaching experience necessary, but a commitment to growth and critique is a must

Volunteer Applications and Recommendations are due by Wednesday, October 12.

MSMP volunteer orientation is on Wednesday, October 19 from 6:30-8:00 PM at Garfield Community Center. Volunteers will begin working directly with students the following Wednesday. The last day of MSMP is May 31st.

Instrumentation:

Instrumentation needs within MSMP are based on student enrollment. Traditionally we have had students who play the following instruments: violin, viola, cello, flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, and trombone. In the next program year we may also need volunteers with string bass and percussion knowledge.

If you play an instrument other than the ones listed above (or are a vocalist) and are willing to be flexible, contact us to talk about how you might still be able to help.
