Participating in the Crawl is easy. Simply post your Pumpkin Sign near your mailbox, then give out treats from the end of your lawn on Halloween! Setting up near the curb creates an amazing block party vibe and makes trick-or-treating fast and easy for kids. We're basically tripling the number of stops they can hit in a spread-out neighborhood like ours. Posting our Pumpkin Signs all month long shows kids that Betton is big on Halloween and helps to drum up participation for the event.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Q: I already have a sign. Do I still need to sign up?
A: YES. You need to register each year to be on the map.
Q: Will I have to hand out from 5:30 to 9:00? That's a really long time!
A: NO. The Crawl is BETWEEN 5:30 & 9 PM. Start any time after 5:30 and stop whenever you're ready. Just go inside, and kids will pass by if they see no setup or an empty one. One advantage of the Crawl is the elimination of people coming to your door when you're not handing out. (Don't forget to turn off your outside lights.)
Q: Do I need to hand out in person?
A: NO. You don't need to be at your treat setup to be a stop on the Crawl! Leave treats on a table or chair or get creative. You can watch from your porch or not be there at all. Afraid someone will take all of the unattended candy at once? Put up a note that says "Take One." 95% of kids will only take one piece whether or not you're watching.
