Welcome to the BIPOC Foundation x DataCamp Donates Scholarship Application Form. The BIPOC Foundation is excited to offer this opportunity to our community of underestimated entrepreneurs, students, (recent) graduates and other community members wanting to transition into tech across Canada

This scholarship program aims to empower members of the Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) communities with crucial data science, data analysis, data engineering skills. Whether you're an entrepreneur looking to leverage data for your business or a student (recent) graduate aspiring to build a career in tech, this scholarship can provide you with valuable learning resources.

The DataCamp Donates program offers free access to DataCamp's full curriculum of data science and analytics courses. As a scholarship recipient, you'll have the opportunity to learn in-demand skills such as data analysis, programming, machine learning, and data visualization. We expect scholarship recipients to actively engage with the course material and apply their new skills to their professional and entrepreneurial ventures or career development. Your progress and success stories will inspire future learners and help us expand our impact in the BIPOC community.

Please note that 30% of our scholarships are reserved for women in BIPOC communities to promote gender diversity in tech and entrepreneurship. One of the significant challenges I faced was transitioning from a non-technical background in customer service and sales to a career in Data Science. Despite having no prior experience, I was determined to make a career change.

To overcome this challenge, I started self-learning, focusing on data analysis and visualization. I recently achieved the Microsoft Power BI Analyst Associate certification, demonstrating my commitment to this new path.

This accomplishment has boosted my confidence, and I'm eager to continue advancing my skills in data science, ultimately pursuing a PhD. I believe my unique blend of customer-facing experience and analytical skills will enable me to drive business growth through data-driven insights.
