JRCLS Student Leader - Travel Stipend Application
This application is for current law students only.

Financial assistance is available to assist approved JRCLS Student Chapter Leaders with a portion of their travel expenses to attend the 2025 JRCLS Leadership Conference at Aspen Grove, Utah, USA on October 2 - 3, 2025

Travel stipends will be awarded to reimburse a portion of travel expenses, primarily airfare, from a recipient’s current residence to the Aspen Grove. No monies will be provided to stipend recipients in advance of the conference.

Financial assistance is limited to expenses incurred to attend the Leadership Conference in-person as follows:

Approved Expenses:
  • Airline flights
  • Ground transportation (rental cars; buses; trains; taxis/car ride services)
Excluded Expenses:
  • Lodging/housing costs
  • Food costs
  • Any other costs not included in the "Approved Expenses" list above
The stipend amount awarded to each recipient will depend on the number of applicants and the projected cost of their travel. Preference in awarding stipends will be given to:

(1) Student Chapter Chairs who have not attended a JRCLS conference previously;
(2) Leaders whose financial need is determined to be greatest; and
(3) The distance an applicant has to travel to attend the conference.

Reimbursements cannot be claimed for flights purchased with points or e-credits, or for expenses beyond flight and ground travel.  Reimbursements must also remain in compliance with all other aspects of the BYU Travel policy

If you have any questions about what expenses can be reimbursed, please contact Amy Parker at amy.parker@law.byu.edu
