TDEA is restructuring the Regional Representative program for 2017-18 to provide members with more input on region and state matters, improved TDEA communication, and assisting in the DEAL Assessment program. This year, TDEA is going to be taking nominations for Regional Representatives that will then be selected by the Board. The process is outlined below. -Both Nominees and the nomination party must be active/current members of TDEA to be a Regional Representative. -Regions are determined by the TMEA Regions (not TEA): http://align.tmea.org/index.php -Regional Representatives will be nominated from August-September by members of their region to the TDEA Board. 2017 Deadline: midnight Friday, September 8th -Members may not nominate someone outside of their region. -TDEA Board members can not be nominated as Regional Representatives. -The TDEA Board will determine and select the Regional Representatives from those nominated. -Board members have the ability, as members, to nominate Representatives as well. -Selected nominees will be notified of their selection by: September 16, 2017-If they accept the position, further information will be both collected and distributed to the nominees.-If they decline the nomination, the Board will choose another nominated candidate. -If a region is not covered by membership nominations, the board will submit nominations for that region.-Regional Representatives will hold their position September-July and can also serve TDEA on the Committee level if desired. -Representatives are allowed to be re-nominated from year to year.-If a Regional Representative no longer wishes to serve, changes positions, or is unable to complete duties, a new Representative will be nominated to by the Board.
