HIVE NYC LEARNING NETWORK GOALS• Strengthen Hive NYC as a context for learning and innovation;• Develop conditions for the spread and scale of Hive NYC ideas;• Illustrate and develop youth trajectories and pathways; and• Increase equity and access to education opportunities in NYC
As stewards of the network, Hive NYC staff are dedicated to:
• Fostering a safe, innovative, and experimental learning environment for members,• Support member relationships and connections to strengthen each others work through the sharing of tools, resources, pedagogy, and strategies,• Be advocates of members’ work, mission, and values across education, governmental and philanthropic sectors,• Play an active role in supporting member organizations to make connections with prospective funders,• Facilitating memberwide decision making and avenues for providing feedback.

HIVE MEMBER - Organizations or institutions that:•Provide free or low-cost, strengths-based youth development and learning opportunities directly to high school aged youth in the five boroughs of New York City.•Invest in increasing access and equity in education through digital media and web literacy.•Commit to ongoing learning and innovation for both educators and youth participants.•Commit to creating and contributing to inclusive learning environments within and outside of their organization.
If your organization does not fit the criteria to apply to be a Hive Member, don’t fret! Consider applying to be a Hive Community Ally.
COMMUNITY ALLY - Organizations, institutions, groups, and individuals that:•Organizations/institutions that are aligned with Hive NYC's core principles and practices but do not meet the aforementioned Hive Member criteria. (can include community organizing groups, community focused coalitions etc.).
“Hive Members” and “Community Allies” are valued equally and are integral to our learning community, but have slightly different participation roles based on their organizational structures. The following participation guidelines are required for Hive Members, but not for Community Allies. _______________________________________________________________________________________________
If your organization meets the Hive Membership Criteria and can agree to the Memorandum of Understand, you can apply on behalf of your organization by filling out this application.
