DIVISIONS
There are two CFC rated divisions. A U1500 and Open section. Players playing up a division must be within 100 rating points of their desired section and pay an additional $10 fee to the organizer. If you wish to "play up" please email the organizer at barriechessclubinfo@gmail.com
SCHEDULE
The 5 rounds are at 10am, 11:30 there will be a short break for lunch (bring your own or there is the park place plaza with plenty of restaurants 3 minutes away), 1:30pm, 3pm and 4:30pm.
If you would like to request a bye for any round, please do so at least 24 hours before the tournament begins. 1/2 point byes will only be offered for rounds 1-3. Rounds 4 and 5 will be zero point byes if requested by players. In the event of an uneven number of players, forced byes will be given as 1 full points.
PRIZES
Cash prizes and medals for the Open division, and medals for the U1500 division
Expected cash prizes are $200, $125, and $75 for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd respectively (but may be higher based on number of entries) Cash prizes will be split among tie breaks, with medals awarded through the tiebreaker.
TIEBREAKERS
Ties between players with the same number of points will be broken by the following criteria in descending priority.
1. Direct Encounter
2. Number of wins
3. Büchholtz ( measurement of your opponents strength)
