WHY?We aim to help children have fun over the summer while improving their Chinese through interactive activities.
Our goal is to provide a safe, educational, and fun environment where children can learn Chinese while doing typical summer camp activities.
WHAT?Campers engage in each week’s theme through hands-on activities like cooking, drawing, crafting, engineering, and puppeteering. Children get into the habit of using and speaking Chinese by engaging with our native Chinese teachers throughout the day. Children also learn vocabulary related to each week’s themes and activities.
Depending on the number of campers, children may walk to nearby Ohlone Park in the afternoon for outdoor activities.
WHO?Children ages 5–10 who can understand basic spoken Mandarin Chinese.
NOTE: Session 4 & Session 5 are limited to children entering grades 2–5
WHEN?Camps are held in ten one-week sessions between June18 – August 24, 2018.
