Voluntary and Community Sector application form for the Household Fund Grant- April 2024-September 2024.
The DWP have awarded Local Authorities additional funding via the Household Support Fund and we would like to support the VCS to provide additional support in the community via a grant.

This phase of funding retains flexibility in how this money can be spent but we are hoping to include the following:

  • Nutritional meals for residents, especially clinically vulnerable residents (following NICE guidelines).
  • Warm/Community Spaces for residents to attend.
  • Provision of household equipment to help with keeping warm, eg. electric blankets, hot water bottles and thermos flasks.
The grant can be used to support the above as long as it is not an existing offer from your service.

If you would like to apply for a grant to set up a Warm/Community Space, this will need to be a new session or venue. For example, if you already have a Space on a Wednesday, you can apply for funding for a Monday session.

The DWP have stated that this grant cannot fund advice or information services. If you wish to have this as part of your Space, alternative funding will need to be sourced.

Where there is a need for additional administrative support to complete these applications (where this is above and beyond your usual role) there are some funds available to support you to do this.

Applicants will need to demonstrate that they have the ability to assess need and eligibility and are committed to targeting funding where the need is greatest.

In order to manage the risk of fraud, successful applicants will need to demonstrate that they have robust mechanisms to ensure individuals are in genuine need of assistance and that payments or vouchers are spent appropriately.

Successful applicants will need to provide a summary of spend at the end of the funding period in September 2024

Please note, this fund cannot be accessed beyond September 2024.
