For 35 days, the Sit-in and Occupation participants called for Johns Hopkins University President Ronald J. Daniels and Provost Sunil Kumar to negotiate a plan forward on issues of concern. In lieu of an open, good-faith effort, the JHU administration chose to repeatedly ignore our requests and threatened legal action against protesters demanding justice for Tyrone West.

With tremendous support from you, we were able to continue applying pressure on administrators even after the May 8th police raid that violently removed us from Garland Hall. We are pleased to report that we have scheduled a first meeting on July 24th to discuss the terms of negotiations with President Daniels and Provost Kumar, as well as other senior administrators. We cannot thank you enough for your contributions and support as we continue this collective fight.

If there is any feedback (e.g., related to demands to include, improvements on communication, etc.) you would like to share as we prepare for this meeting, we would appreciate it!

We are continuing to fight the administrators' attempts to bar community voices from the meeting and hope this is a step in the right direction.
