The Key & Scepter Society is proud to offer three scholarships adding up to $1,500 for incoming freshman and sophomores for the at the end of the Fall 2021 semester: the Kelly Petrowski Scholarship for $500 awarded to a female student, the Dave Wolf Scholarship for $500 awarded to a male student, and the Craig Nelson Scholarship for $500 awarded to a student affiliated with Scouting.
Kelly Petrowski is an excellent educator and administrator. She tirelessly seeks the enrichment of youth through a variety of organizations with her time, money, and emotional labor. In recognition of her steadfast support of the Key & Scepter mission, we dedicate this award to her by selecting a freshman or sophomore female that aims to enrich others without restraint.
The Dave Wolf Scholarship is named after the founding president of the Key & Scepter Society. Through his leadership and dedication to the ideals of servant leadership, we are able to extend scholarships, professional development opportunities, educational space, as well as travel and registration grants to students at UW-Madison as they strive to leave their mark on the world. We honor him with this scholarship geared towards a male freshman or sophomore dedicated to the ideals of servant leadership.
Craig Nelson is the embodiment of the twelve points of the scout law. As the current Key & Scepter Society president and co-founder, he is the arrow that keeps the organization on course. He is an Eagle scout, obtained the Vigil honor from the Order of the Arrow and has held many positions in his troop, the Order of the Arrow and camp staff. On behalf of Venture crew 620, we honor his brotherhood, cheerfulness, and service by awarding a scholarship to an outstanding freshman or sophomore committed to involvement in any scouting-based organization.
***Please note that this scholarship application is for all three scholarships and the review committee will determine which scholarship you are qualified for. You can be qualified for more than one scholarship.****
