Between 11:30 and 2:00pm, in addition to lobby visits, we will be offering three workshops for Lobby Day participants to attend. Please indicate below the workshop(s) you plan to attend. If you have been assigned to a legislative visit, please be mindful of the time of that visit and whether it will overlap with the workshop of your choice. You will receive follow up information regarding Zoom information and more details by Monday, March 22. Please reach out to PNHP NY-Metro Chapter Coordinator Mandy Strenz with any questions.

Workshop 1: Lobbying Skills (11:30am-1:00pm). This workshop will provide the basic skill set to lobby a legislator, including an opportunity to practice those skills. The workshop will be presented by Carlyn Cowen, longtime social justice advocate and current Chief Political and Public Affairs Officer at the Chinese-American Planning Council. *
Workshop 2: Storytelling (11:30am-1:00pm): Our healthcare stories are some of the most powerful tools in the fight to achieve single payer health care. Join YuLing Koh Hsu and Ursula Rozum from the Campaign for New York Health to learn how to use those stories most effectively in your advocacy to #PassNYHealth. *
Writing to get read (1:00-2:00pm). This workshop seeks to train (or remind) advocates how to draft concise, compelling Letters to the Editor and Op-eds that appeal to both publishers and readers. Led by Judy Esterquest, long-time New York Health Act advocate and part of the leadership team for our Letters to the Editor Campaign. *
