NZ Sign Language Classes Subsidy Application Form
Your child needs to be a registered member of Deaf Children NZ, it's free to join, go to the Join DCNZ page on our website.
This subsidy is available for DCNZ members (and their family members who live with, or care for, a Deaf or Hard of Hearing child) who wish to learn New Zealand Sign Language at home, in a community class or online.
The fund provides $400 per term (including GST and with a maximum total allowance of $1,600 per family).
NZSL Teacher must be a qualified (or have completed Deaf Studies Certificate or higher at Victoria University or other accredited Tertiary institution).
We recommend courses or private tutition run by a qualified member of the NZ Sign Language Teacher Association (NZSLTA).

The NZSL Teacher or provider is required to complete a Progress Report at the end of each term. The NZSL Teacher/Provider can be paid directly upon receipt of an invoice, or the family can be reimbursed, up to a maximum value of $400 at the end of each school Term.
