The CHEC Center Mentorship Application 2025

Thank you for your interest in The CHEC Center’s Mentorship Program! The purpose of the program is to help individuals implement a cultural awareness and diversity focus in their vocational and avocational pursuits. The CHEC Center wants to foster the cultural leaders of today and tomorrow in reaching their goals and building more inclusive and connected communities, both personally and professionally.

Program Outline:
  1. Applicant may select a 6-month or 12-month term

  2. Program begins in May with Evolve, a six week goal setting program – 2-hour online meeting weekly

  3. Following the goal setting program, one hour 1:1 goal coaching/counseling with Jennifer Bowes, weekly or every other week, depending on mentee’s needs

  4. 1-hour bi-weekly online CHEC meeting with the team

Applicant/Participation Requirements:

  1. Have participated in at least one CHEC workshop - includes CHEC Ins
  2. Commit to full Mentorship term (6-month or 12-month terms available)
  3. Attend at least one CHEC meeting a month with the team
  4. Able to dedicate 2 to 5 hours a week toward development and pursuit of your goal – time includes goal setting program, 1:1 with Jennifer Bowes, & CHEC team meetings
  • Evolve group for all terms: 
  • Wednesdays from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. (May 7, May 14, May 21, May 28, June 4, June 11)

Deadlines

  • Applications are due by 3/31/25
  • Interviews with selected candidates will be scheduled for April 3rd and April 17th
  • Selected Mentees will be notified by 4/25/25
  • The first 6-month term and 12-month term start on 5/7/25
  • The second 6-month term starts on 11/5/24 ( Evolve program in May/June)
