Director of University Affairs Intern

The director of university affairs addresses issues of university academics, administration, advising, research, and other issues pertaining to higher education. Interns will have the chance to gain a deeper understanding of how the university operates and contribute to discussions on university policies, procedures, and standards. Some topics covered include: capacity-constrained majors, admissions, affordability, capital projects, and university budgets. Additionally, the director of university affairs is closely involved with ASUW legislative efforts, including the development of the ASUW legislative agenda and lobbying efforts.
- serve as the director of university affairs' proxy on assigned university committees
- prepare for meetings
- take on different projects as assigned
- participate in conversations pertaining to university governance and administration
The time commitment for this position will be three (3) to five (5) hours per week. There will be one mandatory meeting per week for all interns and all university affairs appointees to network, collaborate, and ask questions.
