SSP Application (for 1:1 and/or group)
Hi there! I'm excited you're here. Thanks so much for your interest in the SSP! This is an application form for the Individual SSP Experience Package and/or the Somatic Safe & Sound (SSP) Group Experience.

This application is here to be helpful for you and me. When you apply, we both have the opportunity to assess whether an SSP group (minimum 4, maximum 6 people per group) or an Individual SSP Experience Package will be a good fit for you and your nervous system.

After you submit your application, we can have a short connection call via Zoom.

💖 New groups will begin in late winter! Stay tuned and feel free to fill out an app in the meantime so I know you are interested. 💖

Thanks and with care,
Jess (she/they)

Are you interested in joining an SSP Group, or an Individual SSP Experience Package? *
How did you hear about this experience?

I.E.: A friend, a google search, a referral from your doctor/therapist, my ig, my newsletter, etc. Knowing this helps my small business so much!

What draws you to this experience? *

Are there any actions or feelings you are hoping to alleviate through your time in the SSP?

For example, some folks are seeking to experience less anxiety or less overwhelm when emotions come up.

Are there any actions or feelings you are hoping to increase through your time in the SSP?

For example, some folks are seeking to experience more rest and relaxation in their lives, or more access to feelings or boundaries.
If you are hoping to do the SSP 1-1, which sliding scale rate is best for you?

Please note an individual SSP journey may take more than 15 sessions as we will move at the pace of your nervous system.

You may pay in full, or:
A deposit will save your spot and pay for your first 3 sessions. Then, you will pay with an automated weekly payment plan.
If you are hoping to join an SSP group, which sliding scale rate do you need? You can self-select based on your financials. I don't ask for proof.

To guide your decision, check out the green bottle method.

You may pay in full. Fee free 3 and 6 month payment plans are also available.

Your first payment will secure your spot in a group.

The SSP experience comes with the possibility of benefits as well as side effects. It’s possible to experience nervous system dysregulation and activation, increased sensitivity to sound, increased emotional sensitivity, gastrointestinal upset, increased anxiety, and more than what’s on this list, depending on your unique body and nervous system.

I am here to help if you are feeling ill effects from the SSP, and we can make adjustments in the listening experience to offer my support.

In my experience offering the SSP (and being a receiver of the SSP), side effects are often brief and then settle, but of course it’s possible to have intense or adverse experiences.

I’m here if you’d like to talk more about this or have concerns!

Do you have experience with somatic work, nervous system healing or education, therapy or other healing? Feel free to share more here if you'd like. Also, this is not required. I'm just curious how folks are arriving and what they've experienced. *
For all Applicants: Do you have what you need (a quiet space, an internet connection and a zoom account, a smart phone for the SSP playlists, headphones, some outside support) to participate each week? *
For SSP Group Applicants: This is a small group experience. We'll have a minimum of 4 and maximum of 6 participants in each group. Are you willing to commit to holding confidentiality about what happens in our group (not sharing others' experiences outside of our group), honor folks' identities (including cultural background, gender identities and pronouns) and ask before offering unsolicited advice?
For SSP Group Applicants: What do you need from a group?
For SSP Group Applicants: What do you feel like you bring to a group? And/or, how do you typically show up to a group?
Is there anything you feel nervous about regarding the SSP experience? Are there any ongoing struggles you're worried might make the SSP more challenging for you? Any additional support you feel like you might need and don't have? Feel free to share here, and we can chat more later if that feels supportive. *

There are a few contraindications to the SSP. I’m happy to talk about your individual circumstance. Please know I won’t recommend it if it truly doesn’t sound like the right fit for you or your life circumstances.

In general, the SSP is not recommended for:

Folks experiencing active psychosis, currently on antipsychotic medication, or with recent psychiatric hospitalizations.

Folks with active or uncontrolled seizures, active tinnitus, or who are actively reporting thoughts of suicide.

And, participants need to have a “safe enough” home environment to return to after each listening session without threat of physical harm. I recognize this is relative. Please do connect with me if you’re not sure about this one.

Do you have any concerns about these contraindications? Feel free to say yes, no, or share more.

Do you have any questions for me about SSP Groups, the SSP, and the way I facilitate and hold space? Feel free to ask here, via email, or on a connection call.
Thanks for applying! After you submit your application for an SSP Group, you may book a connection call via Zoom to ask questions and decide if you'd like to join us!

This connection call is for us to get to know one another, I can share about the SSP process, and you can ask any questions. It will also help us discover if the SSP might be a supportive fit for you, and whether a group or 1-1 would be beneficial.
