DLP Program

DLP Tutorial Classes

DLP Exams

Note: DLP also offers online tutorial classes. Applicants can enroll (optional; not a requirement) in those classes to prepare for the exams. There is a fee for these classes and the exams which will have to be borne by the applicants.

All examinations must be taken through Samskrita Bharati USA’s DLP Division and all the prescribed rules must be adhered to.

To remain eligible for the scholarship award, students can only take one DLP exam per examination cycle. Examination cycles occur biannually and exams are offered in November and May. Students are welcome to prepare for the exams in whichever manner they feel comfortable doing so.

See the FAQ below for further questions on DLP examination pertaining to scholarship eligibility.

Service to Samskritam

Students are expected to engage in volunteer service with Samskrita Bharati USA in order to merit scholarship receipt. Students can reach out to their local SB kendram to find volunteer opportunities or contact safl@sbusa.org with inquiries on whom to contact if there is no kendram nearby. Applicants must obtain approval of their volunteer engagement from the SAFL program administrator by emailing safl@sbusa.org with their interest in the scholarship and proposed volunteership details.

Students are expected to keep a record of volunteer hours and obtain the name and signature from the Samskrita Bharati volunteer supervising them. This record must be presented as a part of the scholarship application. Volunteer hours can be double-counted between this scholarship and Samskrita Bharati’s President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) program.

We count all service conducted within a 6-month range prior to and following the DLP examination toward a given service award level. For example, if a student is preparing to take the Pravesha examination in November 2023, all volunteer hours conducted in May 2023 to April 2024 (inclusive) are counted toward Level 1 eligibility. Service hours from outside this window are ineligible for application to the respective level of the scholarship.
