Are you confident that you can provide people health education on safer drug use and harm reduction in any other language(s)?  If yes, which one(s)? *
Please tell us what attracts you to this work? *
What, if any, experiences have you had with syringe exchange, HIV testing, hepatitis, outreach or the provision of counseling or health services? (these can include personal experiences as a participant/client/patient). *
How do you feel about drug use and why? *
We strongly encourage people with lived and living experience with drug use and sex work (past or present) to volunteer with us. Though this experience is in no way required, you must answer one of the following two questions:
1) If you ARE a person with lived/living experience, what would you like us to know about that as it relates to being a CHOV volunteer? What support do you think you might need from us to best support you in doing this work?  (write NA if you do not have lived/living experience) *
2) If you ARE NOT a person with lived/living experience- what attitudes or beliefs do you think you'll need to tackle to work directly with people who use drugs or do sex work? What support do you think you might need dismantling these attitudes and beliefs (write NA if you have lived/living experience) *
We believe very strongly in the ideals of participant centered services and harm reduction. What do you feel are good examples of these philosophies at work in your own life or the lives people you know? *
We want you to very clear on the commitment you are making if you are accepted to the program. Essentially you are committing to about 6-8 hours per week during the training and at least 8 hours per month for a year. Please check that you understand that by committing to this training you are committing to: *
