About InMyOpinion

InMyOpinion has the purpose of teaching young people the communication skills they need to Speak Up, Be Heard and Stand Out. It was founded by Arshia Rana, a student with almost a decade of public speaking and debating experience, as a means for her to impart the lessons and skills she gained the hard way, so young students of today have better access to this wealth of knowledge, and can become more effective leaders!


About the program

This term, we’ll focus on  Argumentative Speaking with a unique interest in leadership. Students will:

  • How to communicate as a leader
  • Utilising argumentative tactics in debates
  • The difference between persuasive speech and debate 
  • Think fast on the spot and speak impromptu
  • Build confidence in public speaking

Application of skills:

  • Improve critical thinking for schoolwork and everyday decision-making
  • Develop leadership and teamwork skills through structured argumentation
  • Boost self-confidence in speaking up during class, presentations, or social settings
  • Learn to think and respond quickly under pressure—useful for interviews and discussions
  • Gain valuable tools for resolving conflicts and negotiating effectively
