Thank you so much for your interest in The Conversation Tree program. Through The Conversation Tree, Rutgers students serve as English conversation facilitators within community-based organizations offering ESL (English as a Second Language) services while receiving academic credit. The 3 credit Community-Based Language Learning course is offered in the evening in Fall 2017, with 6 on-campus meetings and 9 off-campus meetings at a community-based organization in New Brunswick. Additionally, students serve 20 hours as a conversation facilitator at one of our many Community Partner site placements.
Applications are accepted year round, however, space is limited! Attend one of our Info Sessions/Group Interviews to learn more. At each 1 hour session, an overview of the program will be given and students interested in applying will have an opportunity to submit their application and participate in a group interview.
Please watch the brief video for an introduction to The Conversation Tree. Then fill out the form and select the info session/group interview that you plan to attend. A staff member from The Conversation Tree will follow-up with you and confirm your attendance.
Thank you so much,
