DreamDay Technology Fellowship - Cohort 1

Sierra Leone, like many developing countries, is experiencing a growing entrepreneurial ecosystem. However, many entrepreneurs in the country lack the digital skills necessary to compete in the global market and maximize their business potential. The fellowship aims to address this gap by providing a comprehensive initiative aimed at equipping young entrepreneurs, non-profit organizations, and social enterprises with essential digital tools, skills, and knowledge to drive meaningful impact in their communities. The fellowship will equip them with the knowledge and tools needed to leverage digital technology for business growth and success.

Project Goals:

i. Empower 20 youths (age 18-35) from Sierra Leone to create a more significant impact in their communities through digital tools.
ii. Foster financial literacy, digital skills, and STEM knowledge among participants.
iii. Support 20 entrepreneurs (2 from 10 teams) in establishing or advancing their startup, non-profit, or social enterprise with a strong IT infrastructure.
iv. Provide participants with certification, mentorship, and access to an alumni network.
v. Create a tailored program covering various aspects of digital tools and skills, including marketing, financial management, sales, research, and more.
vi. The fellowship will cover various topics including communication and research, accounting tools, social media management, pitch and presentation tools, image/audio/video customization, data storage and backup, project management and many more.
vii. All successful participants receive a well-structured IT infrastructure for their business, including professional email and accounting software.
