HDP 191 Pre-Enrollment Questionnaire

GRADUATING SENIORS have priority for HDP 191 enrollment. Others will be accommodated as space permits.

HDP 181 is a prerequisite for HDP 191, and approval for enrollment in HDP 191 is CONDITIONAL upon completion of HDP 181. HDP 181 grades will be verified by an HDP advisor prior to pre-authorizing each student to add HDP 191.

If you plan to take HDP 191 in FALL QUARTER:

Approval for HDP 191 is INDEPENDENT of your enrollment date. You will NOT be able to enroll in this course during first pass, because every student must be pre-authorized by an HDP advisor to add an ASSIGNED section. Please secure other courses that you need during first pass. If granted enrollment in HDP 191 YOUR SEAT WILL BE SAVED, and you will receive further instructions about adding the class at a later date.

This is your opportunity to justify your preference for quarter of enrollment. It is also a chance to express potential concerns or conflicts. HDP 191 is a time-intensive course (20 hours per week), so it is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED that students take NO MORE than two additional courses and LIMIT EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES as needed during the quarter of enrollment in HDP 191.
Site and Section Selection Information
Students will receive a Site Application via email during the quarter BEFORE taking HDP 191. Site preferences are not guaranteed. To plan ahead for the site selection process, view existing partnerships on the HDP website: http://www.hdp.ucsd.edu/courses/hdp191/field-site/index.html (sites subject to change).

Note: Most sites only require a one quarter commitment. Certain sites require an extended commitment. Therefore, it is essential to plan in advance for placement at these sites.

Certain positions at the following sites require an extended commitment:

San Diego Youth Services: 6 months
