Orienteering Registration Form 2019 - Year 7-13
There are a number of events mostly across Terms 1-3. Orienteering events over the year are held in forests, farms and parks where students race as an individual using a map to orientate and also Rogaine events later in the year where they can buddy up and race together. There are relays where students in age group and gender are teamed up as best we can on experience levels.

Many Kristin students choose to join the local orienteering club (North West Orienteering) as a family and develop their skills during weekend events.

We enter the following school competitions.

North Zone Sprint Series
North Island Secondary Schools Championships
Auckland Secondary Schools Individual and Relay Championships
New Zealand Secondary Schools Championships, and NZSS Rogaine Championships
Year 7&8 North Harbour Zone Day

This year we welcome Tegan Knightbridge who will be offering coaching and training to those students who wish to learn more about the reading of maps and competitive Orienterring.
In addition students also are able to join he North West Club, for more information please click here: http://nwoc.aoa.org.nz/

Once you have registered your interest in Orienteering students will be invited to enter the above competitions and also training arrangements will be confirmed.

Many events see students that require transport using the school van. There will be occasions where parents will need to transport their own child or car-pooling also works well (e.g. the sprint series in Term One). Parents and family are also encouraged to attend events where possible as in the past our Orienteering Community has seen great support and families even joining the local Orienteering Club (Nor West) and competing together on weekends!
