2020 Virtual STEAM Camp Counselor
Due to COVID-19, we had to revamp our annual summer STEAM Camp. We are still holding camp sessions, but they will be virtual over zoom video conference. Our teachers have been successful at distance learning and are excited about providing this safer opportunity for our camp counselor

New Virtual Format for August 10-14, 2020
(sign up for only 1, but you might be asked to hold space for the other session)
.

* AM Session - 9:30-11:00 - Lulu - Virtual Storytelling
* PM Session - 1:30-3:00 - Rosetta - STEAMing in the Kitchen

* Save the date of August 10th at 8:30am
* Special Camp Counselor Check-in's 15 minutes before campers arrive. This means that you will come at 9:15 am for Ms. Lulu and 1:15 pm for Rosetta.
* We need 10 counselors only and we are prioritizing 8th graders and alum. We need to see interest first. You will be leading and supporting groups of 3-4 in break out rooms.

FOR BOTH SESSIONS, SGS WILL BE DELIVERING YOU CAMP MATERIALS TO ENGAGE WITH EACH CAMP SESSION.

Virtual Storytelling w/ Ms. Lulu Carpenter - Let’s explore the art of fun storytelling! We will be acting out clown, alien, animal, and other characters with makeup oh my! We will use improv and basic theatre games to explore the awkward and fun shapes of inanimate objects and other quirky characters. Learn the basics of online performance by enhancing virtual zoom space to create other worlds and using everyday objects at home as props, costumes, and settings, oh my! Lights, Camera, Action, Respect!

STEAMing in the Kitchen with Rosetta Lee - Who knew there was so much science and art in the kitchen? Liquid rainbows, homemade lava lamps, floating see-through eggs, and more! Learn some science, do cool experiments, make beautiful food art, and get lots of ideas for having fun in the kitchen (with adult permission, of course)!
