Weaving Dialogues: New Mexico
Are you interested in sharing tea and conversation with the purpose of building connections and community? Las Vegas Arts Council and Fort Union are hosting a conversation series as part of the national project "Weaving Dialogues" by artists Jeni Hansen Gard and Lauren Karle.

*Space is limited to 10 participants.* We appreciate if you fill out the form below to reserve a spot, but join at the last minute if early commitment is not possible.

We are looking for local community members to join the conversation. Weaving Dialogues will pair you with another participant. We facilitate the conversations over tea and coffee using a prompt embroidered on the tablecloth. During the event guests are asked to use the most recent prompt to start their conversation and when finished to leave a prompt that will start the next one.

Weaving Dialogues is an ongoing series of conversations that are interconnected by prompts embroidered on each of the five tablecloths that have corresponding handmade mugs. It began in Newark, Ohio with the question ‘Describe an experience that changed you’ embroidered onto each of the five tablecloths with corresponding mugs. The following iterations continue the previous conversation by starting with the last question, symbolically creating one dialogue between different participants. These prompts are embroidered into the tablecloth as a glimpse into the conversation, leaving viewers to ponder what was said between each line. Weaving Dialogues was most recently in Portland, Oregon and will soon be coming to Las Vegas, New Mexico. Join the conversation!

Events will be held at the following locations:
Las Vegas Arts Council (LVAC) 140 Bridge St, Las Vegas, NM 87701
Fort Union National Monument 3115 NM Highway 161 Watrous, NM 87753
