Description:
Join internationally acclaimed architect Mario Cucinella for an in-depth masterclass at Toronto Metropolitan University exploring how architecture can respond to the environmental and social challenges of our time. 

Open to students, faculty, and recent graduates in the architecture and design fields, this session will delve into Cucinella’s design philosophy, research approach, his work and his Bologna and Milan-based studio, MCA – Mario Cucinella Architects. Participants will gain insight into the principles behind ecological architecture and how design can promote climate resilience, social equity, and community well-being.

Following the masterclass, attendees are welcome to stay for the opening reception of Architecture for a Sustainable Future - The Vision of Mario Cucinella, at the Paul H. Cocker Gallery, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Presented in partnership with ICFF Architettura & Design, a key program of the Italian Contemporary Film Festival (ICFF), the exhibition will be on view throughout the summer until September 11, 2025
