This August 1, the Minnesota Rehabilitation and Reinvestment Act goes into effect, which allows people in prison who are not lifers to earn a 25% reduction in their prison sentence and 33% reduction in their supervision time.
But the Department of Corrections is saying no one will get the good time they've already earned until Jan 1, 2025 -- and already seemed ready to disqualify some of our people. We've seen this happen to work release, and it's time to get the DOC to follow the law.
How can you help get our loved ones home? Attend or host a house, park, church or other gathering on August 14, 2023, from 6:30-8:30pm -- or sign up for another time this fall. Invite your people talk about or learn about others' loved ones in prison and join the movement to make change!
