-----------
Dear Commissioners and Councilors,
The undersigned businesses, organizations, and individuals have come together to express our support for efforts to move Missoula to 100 percent clean electricity by 2030.

As documented in the draft resolution endorsed by an ad hoc citizens committee, climate change is already negatively impacting our state and region, and we’ve reached a tipping point. Globally, greenhouse gas emissions and temperatures continue to rise, and the scientific consensus increasingly warns of the great cost of doing nothing. Moving Missoula to a 100 percent clean electricity portfolio as quickly as possible not only helps ensure Missoula does its part to prevent the worst impacts of climate change, but offers opportunities to boost local economic development and build a more resilient, healthy community. In addition, Missoula’s commitment to 100 percent clean electricity will inspire other Montana communities to follow suit.

We urge you to take this important step in bringing Missoula County and City into alignment with the international, national, and Montana consensus on climate change, for the good of Missoulians today and future generations.
