BestPals Animal Rescue Center is a non-profit rescue operated solely by volunteers. We are an adoption guaranteed facility, therefore, the intake of surrendered animals is limited by space and the capability of our volunteers to care for the animals. Unfortunately, not all animals will be a good fit for our rescue. If we are unable to accept your animal, we will try to suggest alternatives.

If you need urgent assistance with rehoming or have found a stray or lost cat or dog, please contact your local shelter or humane society. For Ottawa County, MI, please contact Harbor Humane Society at 616-399-2119.

Before BestPals ARC considers your cat or dog for placement, we ask that you complete the following steps:
1. If you obtained your pet from a breeder, animal shelter, or rescue other than BestPals, please contact them to ask for assistance. They may prefer that you return the animal to them.
2. You must be the legal owner of the pet or have legal power to act on behalf of the legal owner to surrender a pet.
3. Complete the intake form. Submit your completed form and a copy of your pet’s veterinarian records to us by email or mail.

A $100 fee is requested at the time of surrender. Donations of food, bedding, or other supply items are appreciated, but will not be accepted in lieu of this fee, which is used for initial care of your pet.
