Dane Handmade 2020 Fall Application
Hello makers of beautiful things!
As we move through life during these uncertain times, it is important to know that, as a community of makers, we are in this together. Although we can’t feel, smell, taste, and experience the art in person, we can pull some of the complementary elements of Dane Handmade and bring a virtual show to the community and beyond this fall.
Our Maker Spotlights are one of the best pre-show opportunities to get an up-close-and-personal look at the intricacies and details of an artist’s work. They are exceptionally well received by shoppers, they pique interest and in the past, have been a way to pre-order your favorite items before the show. This holiday show will feature robust Maker Spotlights providing a virtual touch, taste, and smell of your pieces through focused photography and captivating, descriptive text. In the end, shoppers will be compelled to buy.
Here are the details:
1.) Thank you for considering to participate in the virtual version of Dane Handmade. The show will begin November 1, 2020 and run through December 10, 2020. During that time, we will feature no more than six makers per day.
2.) Each maker will have their own, dedicated spotlight, and if their product allows, we will run combination promos where you will be paired with a similar category, ie: Gifts for Her, Gifts for Him, etc. Pairing is not guaranteed, it is dependent upon the number of makers in the show.
3.) PHOTOS SELL. We need the best of the best photos of your items, we can copy edit and spin text, but if your photos are blurry or not detail focused, shoppers will not be compelled to buy. We will provide links with resources on how to take effective product photos with your phone. Those links will be available upon acceptance into the show.
4.) Be sure the items you are featuring are in stock or can be quickly stocked. Shoppers will be purchasing for the holidays and items will need to be delivered in a timely manner. Since we are in unprecedented times, this is your opportunity to pull out all of the stops and get exceptionally clever to incentivize shoppers to buy.
5.) You must have an e-commerce site (Etsy or your own) to facilitate sales and shipping and a social media presence to promote your participation in the virtual show.
6.) The entrance fee for the show is $35. Upon acceptance into the show, we will provide you with further details.
We will promote our virtual holiday show online and through social media, we will also list participating makers on our website and we will work our magic to ensure this, once-in-a-lifetime show, will be a great success.
Your creative crafting mavens,
Melissa and Jessica
