Canoe Island French Camp Scholarship Form
Canoe Island French Camp is committed to providing excellent experiences through its programs to all children of camp age, regardless of race, gender, religion, disability or economic status. Toward this goal, Canoe Island French Camp will secure and manage funds to assist youth in meeting the expense of our camp programs. Scholarships are based on the participant’s situation and desire to learn the French language, culture and history, and participate in this unique island summer camp program. Scholarships are available for only one French Camp session per summer.

In addition to this form, we require the following materials in order to consider your scholarship request:

- A letter of interest from the camper in his or her own handwriting, addressing
1) what he/she hopes to gain from camp
2) what his/her presence will add to the camp

This letter should be mailed to CIFC at PO Box 370, Orcas, WA 98280 or scanned and emailed to campdirector@canoeisland.org. Please do not write the letter in an email.

For FIRST-TIME campers (not returning campers), we request:
- A letter of recommendation from one of the camper’s teachers or a youth group leader describing how this child functions in a group environment or other team situations. (Family members or friends are not acceptable.) This letter should be mailed to the address above or emailed to campdirector@canoeisland.org. Note that returning campers do not need a letter of reference.

Please note that applying for a scholarship does not reserve a spot in French Camp. Be sure to also register your child online at https://canoeisland.campbrainregistration.com/.

If you have questions regarding filling out this application, contact the Camp Director at 360.468.2329 or by email at campdirector@canoeisland.org. Please complete a separate form for each camper requesting aid.
