Rainier Valley Leadership Academy is planning to expand to K-12, currently 6-12. Your responses may be used for Public Testimony with the WA Charter Commission, to show interest and demand for our feeder K-5 elementary school.
RVLA will implement Kindergarten the 2024-2025 school year, adding a grade level each year, to reach full K-12 status by the 2029-2030 school year.
We recognize that in order to serve the community better we have to start earlier before other education systems can create large gaps in our scholars learning careers. This interest form will support us in learning more about the families who would like a FREE public anti-racist education for their elementary aged children. It will also provide us with information about how families would like their children educated.
Vision: Rainier Valley Leadership Academy is an anti-racist collaborative community of critical thinkers focused on dismantling systemic oppression through scholar leadership.
Mission: We fulfill our vision by ensuring scholars are college and career ready by providing an anti-racist education, opportunities for collaborative problem solving, and community leadership experiences.

RVLA is currently the only FREE Public Anti-racist school in WA, help us serve PK-12 with your input and support. We are also the only Black-led charter in WA with leaders from our community served. We have over 70% Global Majority teachers, and Executive Leadership is 100% Black. We are anti-racism in action.
