Film Synopsis: The Six Nations of the Haudenosaunee continue to assert their sovereingty despite the slave-era legal doctines of US Chief Justice John Marshall which invalidated treaties, declared Native Peoples to be “wards” of the US Government and granted plenary, or absolute, powers to Congress over their lands, lives and persons.
