Please estimate the cost for parts that need to be purchased for the project including a buffer for some trial and error. The budget amount is a cap to ensure that there are sufficient funds to complete the project, but only components actually purchased during the course will be billed to the sponsor. A course instructor will review the proposed budget and contact the sponsor if there are concerns.

Shared Shop Expenses

Shared expenses are consumable components used in our machine shop, electronics shop, and design studio. These components are purchased in bulk and made available to all teams. The cost to the sponsor is as described below. Please select appropriate category

Schedule Preference

MAE156B is offered twice a year with projects running November – March, and February - June. The more flexibility you have with your schedule, the easier it will be to match up your project with a team. Please indicate your schedule preference.

Nov - Mar is the only option.

Nov - Mar is preferred, but Feb - June will also work.

Feb - June is the only option.

Feb - June is preferred, but Nov - Mar will also work.

Both schedules work well.

Intellectual Property Form

Industry sponsored projects have the option of having the students sign a form that transfers patents rights developed during the project to the sponsor. Student participation in such projects is voluntary, so we need to know if your project requires this form. A copy of the patent form is in the MAE156 Project Guidelines.

To participate in the project students will be required to sign the intellectual property assignment form.

No intellectual property assignment form is required.
